NEW Location: Chicago Northwest Suburbs
This is the only musical Tattoo of it kind in the Midwest. This annual show dazzles spectators with over 400 musicians, singers and entertainers including both military and civilian brass bands, drum corps, wind bands, bagpipe bands, drill teams, flag corps and an array of dancers. The show takes place at the state-of-the-art Sears Centre Arena near Chicago.
The 2-1/2 hour long Tattoo performances, based on an ancient military tradition, are a vast array of international military and civilian acts. (Never been to a Tattoo? Then the What is a Tattoo? page is for you.)
JOIN US at 10 AM: On Saturday, May 7, 2011, attend the Annual Hoffman Estates International Tartan Parade near the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates (Route 59/Interstate 90 area). This is a new parade route! The parade celebrates all cultures and ethnicities, featuring floats, musical acts, dance troupes, bands, and large balloons. The Parade starts at 10:00 AM. Following the Tartan Day Parade, everyone is invited to attend Unity Day to continue the Celebration of Nations! There will be vendors selling food from a variety of cultures and stage performances. This event is adjacent to the Sears Centre Arena. Time: Noon to 4:00 PM.
NEW Event: During the day on Saturday, May 7, 2011, while the Clan Homecoming USA festivities are going on and prior to the start of The Heartland International Tattoo, attend the new Heartland International Beer Festival to be held inside the Sears Centre Arena from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Here's your chance to sample many domestic and international beer brands. There is a small fee for this separate event. (Special discounts for those who march in the Tartan Day Parade).
